We are a small family run Riding Centre and Livery Yard located near Scammonden Reservoir in West Yorkshire. Nest Farm has been owned by our family for over 35 years. This is  where I, Louisa Gaunt, grew up and is where I have always wanted to run my business from. For those of you who already come to Nest Farm... you will know why!

We are a small, friendly team with just two instructors at present, myself and our amazing Hetty. I am a BHS PTT and Accredited Sports Coach Level 2. I hold a diploma in Equine Management, Equine Science and Sports Management and I have been teaching for over twenty years. Hetty is completing her apprenticeship in Equine Management Level 3 and she is currently on the BHS career pathway for her level 2 coaching award. She has been teaching with myself for over three years.

Nest Farm is also home to Louisa Gaunt Equine Services and Livery, we have loads of fabulous livery horses, along with their equally fabulous owners, who all help to make Nest Farm what it is.

At the Riding Centre we can offer private and semi-private arena lessons, and hack lessons for all levels and abilities, from beginner to advanced. Anyone aged 4+ can enjoy our lessons, although we also offer ‘mini’ sessions for anyone younger than 4 that has a budding interest. We incorporate ‘getting to know the pony and a ride’ in these sessions so they are an ideal way to introduce small people to the wonderful world of ponies.

Saturdays are our Stable Club days. These are full days (10am-3pm) where the children come and gain experience around the horses, learn about stable management, horse care and have a lesson or hack. We do also teach private lessons on Saturdays too.

In the school holidays we run ‘own a pony days’ which we advertise on social media as well as a variety of other events such as picnic hacks and day trips. We encourage all our riding school clients to get involved in all things going on at the centre for example to take part in our low key, 'Local Riders' dressage & clear round jumping competitions which we run over the summer months.

​

As if all that wasn’t enough, we also offer Pony Parties, if you wish you can celebrate your birthday and have a party with us and your favourite ponies! This includes decorating the ponies and playing lots of games, both on and off the ponies, time for food, and of course the birthday cake.
